Christianity or Pygmalionism

Christianity can best be defined as the followers of Jesus the Christ, the biological Son of God through conception between the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary.

As Christians we serve a risen Savior. Jesus is alive and the Holy Spirit is here to comfort us. We must be careful that we do not serve things we create, material things that become our gods.

Pygmalionism is serving gods of our own creation. Statues or houses or cars or riches of gold and silver can become our idols, buff bodies or fancy clothing, even rich foods!

Where our riches are, there is our heart also. Our heart is our spirit. God said He will give us the desires of our heart, of our spirit. Too often we hear the name it and claim it message. We do not get the desires of our flesh. Our question should be, “How can I please you today?” not, “What can I acquire today?” I need to be eating the Word!

The desire of the Christian heart should be to please God. What would God have me do today? What would put me in the center of God’s will for my life? How can I best lift up the name of Jesus, the name that is above all names?

Think about this, people don’t say Oh Budda, or Oh Alla when they get angry, they say Oh Jesus Christ! Some say Oh my God or God d— it!! How come?
As a father I can tell you that my son is very important to me. If you want to get close to me, honor and befriend my son. I am very aware of the people around my son. If you want to anger me, treat my son with disrespect. My son is a door into my good graces.

So it is with our Father in heaven. Respect His Son Jesus and you will find yourself in His good graces. Jesus is the door into the Father. If you want to get God’s attention, revere His Son! Jesus is God’s own blood!

Jesus set an example for us. He gave His Father the highest honor. He obeyed His Father by becoming the blood sacrifice that paid for the sins of you and me. He gave His life for us and all that is required of us is to by faith trust in this truth.

It is too simple for most people to grasp. Simply believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, was crucified for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day after conquering death and the grave. He Lives! Believe in the Bible means: totally rely upon! Put you entire life into the hands of God through His Son Jesus. You get to the heart of a father through his son!

God is not a man that He should lie! Faith is relying on the Word of God. Paul the Apostle wrote, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17

Under the old covenant with God, people were separated from Him by a veil between the inner and outer chambers of the temple. At the cross the veil was torn from top to bottom and a door was placed between the two chambers. The door is Jesus the Christ, the biological Son of God.

It is through Jesus that we enter into the Holy of Holies, the inner chamber of God’s presence. God only birthed one human Son and He, Jesus, is the only door into the presence of God!

The blood of a child comes from the sperm, the father. It was God’s own blood that paid for our redemption. It was God himself who suffered through His Son on the cross.

It would be much easier for me to suffer than for me to witness my son suffering. My heart would be torn in two.
God is the God of spirits. We understand flesh but spirit is still a mystery to us. God’s ways are higher than our ways.

It is by faith that we trust in God and in His Word. It is by faith that we honor Him by relying on His Word that His Son died on the cross and rose from death into life for eternity to intercede for us sitting at His right hand.

Where does faith come from? Faith comes from within. Faith comes from knowing inside that creation is the work of God. Faith comes from an inner witness that totally relies on the Word of God. Faith is trust!

Faith is absolute TRUST in the WORD of GOD. Our life depends on God’s Word being true! Our life is eternal. It is the spirit that is life. Our body is our transportation while we are here in this earthly form. Our body is at enmity with our spirit. The flesh and the spirit are at war. We must choose who is in charge. Who will dominate our life, body, soul or spirit?

Jesus led by example. He knew some simple truths that allowed Him to live a life without sin. It took me 62 years to find one of them, the power of fasting. Fasting weakens the flesh so that the spirit can get in control.

Jesus began His ministry with a 40-day fast. Jesus knew the Word of the old covenant. He weakened His flesh so that His spirit would become strong. Fasting is a key element of spiritual dominance. Spirits live forever. The flesh is only here for a season. God is the God of Spirits!

We are made up of three inner beings, spirit, soul and body. Here is the question that determines our future! Which of the three is in charge?

The body loves the “Feel Good” stuff. The soul, our mind, thrives on knowing, the ability of the five senses. The spirit desires to please God.

The body thrives on food and pleasure. Lust is the driving force of the body, lust for food, sex and rock’n’roll.

The soul thrives on knowledge, thinking it is smarter than everyone else. It wants to one-up everyone including God. This is why it wants to know everything about everything. The soul is ego and wants bragging rights.
The spirit is only content pleasing God and doing His will. Like a muscle, it is through use that the spirit becomes strong. King David said, “Bless the Lord, oh my soul.” David understood that he was a spirit with a soul. It was David’s body that got him in trouble, the lust of the flesh.

How do we give control to our spirit? The answer is simple, however, the practice is not! Putting our spirit in control is a choice that demands our full attention.

In order for our spirit to become the dominant force in our life, we must give it more strength than our body or our soul. This is achieved through fasting and being wrapped in God’s Word. The Word of God can’t get into you unless you get into the Word of God.

This is where www.WordWarriors777.com comes in. The Word Warriors Audio Bible™ allows you to listen to God’s Word conveniently between tasks every day.

By faith we trust God to complete the work He has started in us. We must totally rely on God for our success. We were designed to be creative. God is the source of our creative power. “You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has come upon you.” Acts 1:8

In our darkest hour it is faith in God that saves us. It is His Holy Spirit who gives us favor in the eyes of the very person who can elevate us out of the pit we have fallen into. God is our source of achievement. God is our supply.

Trust in God and He will make your paths straight. “But my God will supply all of your need according to His riches by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Here is my prayer for you and me:

“Dearest Father, I come to you in a state of dismay totally relying on you for the answer. I have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God and I place myself at your mercy. Thank you for helping me up so often. I need your help again Lord. I am in another crisis.

“Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your love and understanding. I am not worthy of your attention even though you have given it to me liberally. It is through you that I even have life and life more abundantly. I love you Lord Jesus. I want to please you Heavenly Father.

Speak to me and I will obey you Holy Spirit. Direct me and I will follow your path. At the end of human life I want to hear, ‘well done good and faithful servant,’ from my Lord Jesus. I give myself completely to you Lord Jesus. Do with me as you will. Your love sustains me and your grace is sufficient my Lord.

Thank you for favor in the eyes of men. Thank you most for paying for my sins and becoming the door into the Holy of Holies. Thank you Father. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Holy Spirit. I love you.

In Jesus precious name, Amen.”
